The South Pacific Whale Research Consortium and locally run NGO Oma Tafua, is looking for VOLUNTEER VESSELS.
Our Niue Whale Research Project (NWRP) team has been conducting long term studies of endangered humpback whales on the stunning island of NIUE, yielding incredibly important information contributing to the long term conservation of Endangered Oceania Humpback whales.
A unique experience is being offered to be a part of this project.
We are looking for private boats/vessels to donate sea time to our small team. We are shore based and will provide fuel, mooring and basic provisions. Two weeks or more preferred, with primary survey dates being 13-30 August 2016. All training shall be provided to your crew. We are requiring daily boat time to photo ID, collect genetic samples and hydrophone recordings of the whales.
If you, or anyone you know, may be interested in joining us in Niue this season please drop us a line or forward this onto your networks :). Best contact is Fiafia at firstname.lastname@example.org and cc to Program Director Olive Andrews at email@example.com.
